Class is in

Well, being white is cool again. Seems like most of the current trends are taking a cue from the past, that is, the look of old money. I've always loved this aesthetic, regardless of the class implications. In my opinion, though, these kinds of clothes are best worn by those who are able to create a fresher, more contemporary look ... otherwise, it makes for boring dowdiness.

New lines like Rag & Bone, Band of Outsiders, Filippa K, and Trovata all retain wonderful, nostalgic details of older lines like Fred Perry, Burberry, Aquascutum, and Brooks Brothers. I feel like bridging the gap between old and new is key in wearing this look.

The Fleur de Lys, still popular.

Brooks Brothers Navy Double Breasted Suit Jacket (everyone is ripping this off these days)

Keira Knightley (whom Aubz hates) in a flawless, classic outfit.

Other old school things I love: tweed, oiled leather, black/navy + gold, unembellished buckles, attachés, tartan, 100% wool, poplin, houndstooth, herringbone, contrast collars, french cuffs, tie blouses, oxfords, wingtips, a-line skirts, sheepskin collars, plaid linings.
