"You look like a doily"

Etsy seller Totusmel makes a lot of pretty, lacey accessories. Though I have some complaints with her detailing (often, her pieces have one embellished flaw that offsets them, such as a metal gear, copper balls, or skull bead), I like the overall idea.

I'll probably buy one of her more simple bracelets or necklace/pendants in the near future to complement my various v-neck tees (I know) and/or dresses.

Check out her masks: they'd make great halloween costume accessories.

Here's one that Aubrey liked (I do, too).

If I bought this, I'd replace the inappropriate ball chain with black thread.

Here's that metal gear I was talking about. Steampunk, eek.

Season Inappropriate

I was going to bid on this cute vintage preppy dress on ebay going for only $9.99, but then realized that it was a summer-specific dress, and would probably have to wait 9 months to wear it. That or move to Guam.

I'm looking for an ivory/beige/off-white lacey dress (like a slip, but not as thin). One that's wispy and delicate, but not a creepy Victorian era one that reminds me of dead people in The Others. I'll probably find it on Urban, and then hate myself for wanting and eventually buying it.

A classmate told me she loved my look, and that it was very "sexy grunge, not ugly grunge ... well-fitted, redefined grunge," which made me super happy because that's EXACTLY the look I'm going for these days. That or "too busy to give a shit and thus sloppy and fucked up."

Go sit in the corner ...

and think about what you've done.

From the Agnes b. fall 08 line. I kid you not.

Sophomore's sophomore line

Okay, let me start this entry off negatively: I'm not as fond of Sophomore's Fall 08 line as I was their Spring/Summer 08 one. The latter seemed fresh in its debut, and I really enjoyed its new takes on simplicity with an emphasis on color and shape. I'm heartbroken I didn't get one of their dresses before they sold out.

That being said, I like the men's line this season a lot, mainly because I'm actually pretty boring and enjoy plain clothes (as I'm sure you've figured out by now). Sophomore again got Cass Bird to shoot for their look book and had Terry Richardson's hot half-asian girlfriend and the singer from The Virgins model for their clothes. Good decision, guys.

Button Pullover (I like this super dark indigo color)

Button Dress

Button Sweatshirt -- I'm sure only giant people can pull off the weird proportions of this sweatshirt.

Pocket T-shirt

V-neck shirt. Great color.

IMPT: ROLL CALL!!!

IF YOU READ THIS BLOG, PLZ STAND UP. Or comment and tell us who you are!

Aubrey and I are a little boggled regarding the high number of hits our blog gets, and we're super curious as to who reads this!

So, do us a favor and comment. :]

Francophilia

Damn you, A.P.C., for creating such beautiful, hard-to-get clothes that are SO expensive. Anyway, this fall's line is gorgeous with a lot of classic pieces.

I like this entire outfit, especially the Sailor coat and zip-up boots. The forest green jeans are nice, as well.

This short duffle plaid coat is nice. I don't care that plaid and flannel have become synonymous with stupid hipster hangers-on.

Simple lace-up ankle boots.
