regarding my wardrobe this season.

i'm thinking turtlenecks.

i'm thinking men's oxford shoes.

(and men's oxford shirts.)

i'm thinking oversized cardigans.

i'm thinking exclusively my gold locket, with respect to jewelry.

i'm thinking all black.

i'm thinking French.

i'm thinking Marcel Marceau.

i'm thinking furs.

i'm thinking the cracked-out yet elegant lovechild of Liza Minelli and Joel Grey (wtf) in Cabaret.

O_O

my functionality level is being forced to skyrocket for the next few months, so this is the only thing i can come up with that will work for this while still being interesting.

Go sit in the corner ...

and think about what you've done.

From the Agnes b. fall 08 line. I kid you not.

Sophomore's sophomore line

Okay, let me start this entry off negatively: I'm not as fond of Sophomore's Fall 08 line as I was their Spring/Summer 08 one. The latter seemed fresh in its debut, and I really enjoyed its new takes on simplicity with an emphasis on color and shape. I'm heartbroken I didn't get one of their dresses before they sold out.

That being said, I like the men's line this season a lot, mainly because I'm actually pretty boring and enjoy plain clothes (as I'm sure you've figured out by now). Sophomore again got Cass Bird to shoot for their look book and had Terry Richardson's hot half-asian girlfriend and the singer from The Virgins model for their clothes. Good decision, guys.

Button Pullover (I like this super dark indigo color)

Button Dress

Button Sweatshirt -- I'm sure only giant people can pull off the weird proportions of this sweatshirt.

Pocket T-shirt

V-neck shirt. Great color.

Autumn Nepotism

FALL'S COMING. We know what that means. Jackets, sweaters, long sleeves, pants, new denim, boots. Here are a couple of my favorites from the upcoming Fall/Winter 09 line from G1 Clothing. Oh, and G1 is my aunt's line. Available at boutiques and Anthropologie (lol). G1 takes a lot of inspiration from 40s vintage clothing, but with a modern touch. The pants are famous for making asses look great, ps.

Lorick.

very pretty, dignified silhouettes.
they remind me of a more grown-up Mooka Kinney.

apparently the designer, Abigail Lorick, is the designer of Blair Waldorf's wardrobe on Gossip Girl. for all you TV-watchers. or something.

Alexander Wang, Y-3

A friend directed me to the Alexander Wang Fall 08 collection the other day when I was feeling cranky. It cheered me up considerably. I love it, brown, black, simple delicate long pieces. Bo-hobo hats. Then I stumbled across the Y-3 Fall 08 collection, which I also love, maybe or maybe not because there was a ton of plaid in it.
