Military Crest Pins

Nice on sweaters, cardigans, lapels, etc. Tiny and pretty and classic. And some come with phrases like "GET IT DONE" and "READY AND WILLING," the former sounding more like Aubrey's mantra and the latter sounding like mine, sort of. Or something. Okay, maybe the opposite.

Social Climber

Hell's bells, I accidentally bought Tom Ripley's glasses. Though mine are more square.

Thoughts?

I really love these horse bit socks, but I haven't the faintest idea what kind of footwear to (hypothetically) wear them with.

EMERGENCY UPDATE

Spring/Summer '09 preview at Oliver Peoples.

Yeah yeah, the Zooey thing is played out, but I am dying over these sunglasses, seriously. They are totally and completely perfect. Did I mention that I'm doing my image over? Er, redoing my image? Look? I'm going for a gay Audrey Hepburn + English Schoolboy + Vintage Ivy League. Kill me.

Frost River Packs

My friend, Tom, who has impeccable classic taste and an affinity for handiness, recommended me these beautiful camping backpacks made of canvas and leather. They're made by a small company called Frost River. Unfortunately, the one I want is sold out, but at $139, I probably wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway.

"You look like a doily"

Etsy seller Totusmel makes a lot of pretty, lacey accessories. Though I have some complaints with her detailing (often, her pieces have one embellished flaw that offsets them, such as a metal gear, copper balls, or skull bead), I like the overall idea.

I'll probably buy one of her more simple bracelets or necklace/pendants in the near future to complement my various v-neck tees (I know) and/or dresses.

Check out her masks: they'd make great halloween costume accessories.

Here's one that Aubrey liked (I do, too).

If I bought this, I'd replace the inappropriate ball chain with black thread.

Here's that metal gear I was talking about. Steampunk, eek.

Buckle Up

So, as most everyone knows, bike culture is huge in Portland, OR. People take huge pride in what bikes they ride (fixed gears, 'fixies,' are very popular here, but I prefer the classier road bike) and dress accordingly. Along with rolled up skinny jeans, I've noticed an inordinate number of Chrome messenger bags in this city. Chrome makes extremely practical, waterproof messengers bags that diagonally buckle at the wearer's chest, making it extremely easy to re-wear.

My beat up army messenger bag has proven a bit annoying to wear while biking. It moves around a lot, so much that I have to swing its weight back behind me at every opportunity I get. Now, I want a Chrome bag for myself.

I like the olive + red the best

Chrome's signature buckle.

Not a fixie!
